Nada Johnson, BA, MSW RSW
Founder & Clinical Director | Trauma Therapist

Nada is the Founder and Clinical Director of Beyond Crisis™. She created this specialty clinic to provide trauma informed counselling to women and adolescent girls (14+) who have been impacted by sexual abuse and sexual assault in Ontario, Canada.
Nada is also a Trauma Therapist in the specialty clinic providing online counselling for adolescent girls (14+) and women who are healing from the impacts of sexual abuse and sexual assault. She created this practice to offer a safe, compassionate, and accessible space where survivors can feel supported, understood, and empowered in their healing journey.
Over the past several years, she has worked extensively in the field of sexual violence and trauma counselling. She brings nearly 10 years of experience counselling girls and women through crisis, healing, and recovery within community-based organizations and large-scale trauma services.
Nada has worked as a trauma counsellor supporting women who have experienced sexual assault, including workplace sexual mistreatment, using a trauma-informed approach to help clients process their experiences and rebuild a sense of safety and stability. She also supported adolescent girls in healing from trauma, helping them develop coping skills, emotional awareness, and self-worth in a safe and supportive environment.
She also has experience providing family counselling and couples counselling, supporting loved ones and partners in understanding the impact of trauma and strengthening communication, safety, and connection within relationships.
Nada has served as Board Chair of a sexual violence centre in Ontario, Canada, where she provided strategic leadership to guide the delivery of trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and inclusive counselling and support services. Her work was grounded in ensuring that services were accessible, culturally responsive, and accountable to the communities they served. In this role, she helped shape the organization's strategic direction and strengthen policies and procedures that promoted equity and safe, ethical care.
She is currently the Board President of Luke's Place, an award-winning non-profit centre of excellence solely devoted to improving the safety and experience of women and their children as they proceed through the family law process after leaving an abusive relationship.
She earned a Master Degree in Social Work from York University and a Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree with Distinction from the University of Toronto along with specialized training in trauma and mental health.
Her approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in deep respect for each client’s lived experience. She draws from evidence-based, trauma-informed practices to support clients in understanding the impact of trauma, reducing distress, and rebuilding connection to self, relationships, and life.
This specialty clinic was created from a deep commitment to walking alongside survivors in their healing.
