Supporting survivors of sexual abuse and sexual assault often requires a team approach. Family physicians, Social Workers, School Counsellors, Psychologists, Lawyers, Victim Services, and other helping professionals each play an important role in a survivor's healing journey. Specialized trauma counselling is one part of that continuum of care.
My practice was created to provide a dedicated space for teen girls (14+) and women healing from the impacts of sexual abuse and sexual assault. My goal is to work collaboratively with referring professionals to ensure clients receive compassionate, trauma-informed care that complements the support they are already receiving.
A Specialty Practice Focused on Sexual Trauma
Unlike a general counselling practice, my work is exclusively focused on supporting survivors of sexual abuse and sexual assault.
I provide online counselling across Ontario, Canada for:
Teen girls (14+) healing from sexual abuse
Women recovering from childhood sexual abuse or sexual assault
Couples navigating the impact of sexual trauma within their relationship
Parents, caregivers, partners, and families seeking education, support, and guidance
This focused practice allows clients to receive care from a therapist with extensive experience working specifically within the field of sexual violence.
What Referring Professionals Can Expect
When referring a client, my priority is creating a safe, respectful, and collaborative experience.
Clients receive trauma-informed, evidence-based care tailored to their unique experiences and goals. Therapy is paced according to each person's readiness, recognizing that healing is not linear and that safety is foundational.
Whenever appropriate and with client consent, I value collaborative communication with referring professionals to help support continuity of care.
A Foundation of Experience
For nearly a decade, I have worked with teen girls and women experiencing the impacts of sexual violence across community-based organizations and specialized trauma services. My experience includes individual, family, and couples counselling, leadership within Ontario's sexual violence sector, and advanced training in evidence-based trauma therapies, including EMDR, Brainspotting, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, CBT, Narrative Therapy, and culturally responsive trauma care. This experience has shaped a practice grounded in compassion, clinical excellence, and respect for every client's lived experience.
Building Strong Referral Partnerships
Meaningful collaboration benefits everyone involved—especially the client.
Whether you are supporting someone through disclosure, navigating ongoing trauma symptoms, or looking for specialized counselling that complements your own services, my hope is to be a trusted referral partner.
Together, we can help survivors access care that is compassionate, evidence-informed, and responsive to their individual needs.
Thank you for the work you do in supporting survivors. I look forward to building collaborative relationships that strengthen care and support the individuals and families we collectively serve.
I value connection with fellow professionals and collaborative care. If you’re a referring professional and have questions about my approach or client suitability, please feel free to reach out or connect with me at info@nadajohnsonservices.com.
In collaboration,
