Someone Touched Me Without My Permission... Why Do I Feel So Different?

If someone has touched you in a sexual way without your permission, pressured you into something you didn't want, or crossed your boundaries, you might be wondering why you still think about it or why things don't feel the same anymore.
Maybe you feel anxious, angry, numb, scared, embarrassed, or confused. Maybe you don't know exactly how you feel. You might even wonder if you're "overreacting" or question whether what happened was "serious enough."
These are questions many teen girls ask themselves after an unwanted sexual experience.
The truth is, experiences like these can have a real impact on how you feel, think, and respond to the world around you. You might notice changes in your confidence, friendships, school, sleep, or the way you see yourself. You may find it harder to trust people or feel safe in situations that never used to bother you.
Whatever you're experiencing, you don't have to figure it out on your own.
Counselling is a space where you can talk about what happened—or not talk about it until you're ready. There is no pressure to tell your whole story. We go at a pace that feels comfortable and safe for you.
Together, we'll work to understand what you're experiencing, make sense of your emotions, and learn healthy ways to cope when memories or difficult feelings show up. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, more confident, and more connected to yourself again.
What happened to you does not define who you are. Healing is possible, and you deserve support from someone who will listen, believe you, and respect your pace every step of the way.
If you're 14 or older and are looking for a safe place to talk, I provide online trauma-informed counselling for teen girls across Ontario, Canada. Whether what happened was recent or something you've carried with you for a long time, you don't have to go through it alone.
If you'd like to learn more or book a consultation, I'd be happy to connect.
Warm Regards,
